In real estate, the rule has been location, location, location. But that is not the whole story for supply chain site selection decisions. In August 2013 site consultants and economic developers came together to better understand the role of logistics in the location selection and trade development process.
The World Trade 100 2013 Logistics Development Forum addressed the importance of logistics in a corporation’s decision to site a new manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing facility.

At the Georgia Ports Authority board meeting Monday, Executive Director Curtis Foltz reported that the GPA achieved record volumes and added additional customer accounts in October.
"Strong growth, new customer accounts and additional harbor deepening funding announced this month are all positive signs that Georgia's ports are moving in the right direction," said Foltz.

Among other things, World Trade Center Savannah has been established, delegations involving everyone from Gov. Nathan Deal to local city officials and others have visited points from China to Europe, and the push continues.

With the sound of heavy earthmoving equipment as a backdrop, ground was broken Tuesday for a new plant being built in Richmond Hill’s Belfast Commerce Centre by Caesarstone, an Israeli manufacturer of high end quartz surfaces.
“I couldn’t say I could imagine a better background for this ceremony than what you see here,” Caesarstone CEO Yos Shiran told more than 100 people gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony.
