Forging Relationships
By forging relationships between business pioneers, technology innovators, university researchers and state and federal leaders, the Logistics Innovation Center (LINC) connects problem holders and problem solvers. More than a think tank, LINC creates an industry driven environment for idea generation and solution discovery - benefiting individual companies as well as the entire logistics industry.
There are essentially two clusters within the Logistics Innovation Center (LINC). The first consists of industry partners facing the challenges and opportunities of the logistics industry. These strategic partners represent many elements of the global supply-chain process - from manufacturers and retailers to various transportation mode providers.
The second cluster, best described as "problem solvers" is formed from a cross section of world-renowned researchers from academia, leaders from the technology community, relevant industry associations and other industry experts.
By coupling these two groups, LINC forms an objective third party; a shared 'sandbox' where academia, industry and government jointly develop the needed innovative technologies and effective solutions for the logistics industry.
LINC's environment is designed to progress the momentum of strong, pioneering companies and offer them a broad background of knowledge and resources in the issues facing the maritime and logistics industries today. Pilot projects, including proof of concept demonstrations in real word situations and assistance with research and development are two of the specific methods used to assist companies.
