Georgia Ports Authority Welcomes Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz USA opened its newest processing center in the Port of Brunswick last month with the arrival of more than 1,600 vehicles to Brunswick’s Colonel’s Island Terminal. This facility is the second vehicle processing center to open on the south side of Colonel’s Island Terminal in Brunswick, and will create 122 new jobs in the area.

The new center consolidates Mercedes’ southeastern shipping operations and makes the Port of Brunswick the company’s South Atlantic hub. The arrival of Mercedes-Benz USA is another example of how Georgia Ports Authority’s focus on customer service and improving efficiencies are paying huge dividends in attracting new business and further enhancing Georgia’s “cornerstone” location in the logistics industry.
